The Jarrett family settled in this valley in the 1700's. Kenneth is proud of his heritage and is always willing to tell you some stories about his families history and how Barnardsville has changed over time. He has extenscive knowledge of the Coleman Boundary and the plants and trees in the area. He has been a horse enthusiast for over twenty years and has been striving to build the best boarding facility the area has to offer. He is a licensed contractor and was in part responsible for the building of the Big Ivy Community Center..

Whitney pictured here with her husband Kenneth has been instructing beginners for over fifteen years and has had the opportunity to make both adults and children comfortable and confident with their horses. She has an extensive equestrian background that dates back to her great grandfather Howard Britt who is in the Hall of Fame for the Standardbred Horse Association. Whitney has worked as a vet tech for over twenty years and worked as a trauma technician for Dr. Byron Reid and Associates in West Palm Beach Florida. She is currently working with Mountain Equine Hospital and Appalachian Equine Hospital as an emergency transport technician and a medical layover provider.
